João Primo concluded in 1986 the graduation in Medicine in the University of Oporto. Cardiologist since January of 1995 after 5 years of learning and is working in Hospital of Gaia (Oporto). Since than he has the title of Specialist in Cardiology of the Portuguese Medical Board. Since 1990 is working in Cardiac Pacing, Clinical Arrhythmology and none invasive Electrophysiology. Between 1996 and 1997, was working in OLV Hospital-Cardiovascular Centre of Aalst in Belgium with Prof Pedro Brugada, Prof Van Herman and Prof Francis Wellens in Electrophysiology, Clinical Arrhythmology and Implantable Cardio-Defibrillators. He obtained the title of Fellow in Electrophysiology, from Prof. Pedro Brugada. Developed his clinical activity in Gaia Hospital (Oporto). He built the EP lab and began the implantation of ICD’s in 1997 and was since then, the responsible of the Centre, one of the most profitable EP Lab of Portugal in number of patients and complexity of cases (always more then 450 ablations per year).
He was the President (2009-2011) of the Portuguese Association of Arrhytmology, Pacing e Electrophysiology (APAPE). Since November of 2024, as Head of Medical of Cardiolife company, lead the clinical research team to advance the quality AI-driven ECG technology.
